IC BUS CE SERIES WITH PSI PROPANE ENGINE AVAILABLE FOR ORDER

LISLE, Ill. – February 23, 2015 – IC Bus™ today announced the CE Series school bus powered by the Power Solutions International (PSI) 8.8-liter propane engine is available for order. The CE series PSI heavy-duty propane engine offers a cleaner, quieter and more user-friendly alternative to diesel that won't sacrifice power, torque or durability.

“The CE Series bus was purpose-built for the school bus industry and we’re proud of the advancements we continue to make in order to meet our high standards and those of our customers for safety, quality and environmental impact,” said Trish Reed, vice president and general manager, IC Bus. “Each IC Bus is built to meet the needs of the customer, providing superior performance, outstanding durability, remarkable fuel economy and a national network of dealers for service and support.”

The PSI 8.8-liter propane engine is engineered to deliver the highest torque at the lowest speed. The design greatly benefits stop-and-start applications to allow immediate acceleration after stops and greater hill climbing capability. This also eliminates excessive noise, heat and vibration associated with constant engine revving. Minimal revving reduces engine wear, oil usage and maintenance, while increasing durability and efficiency.

The CE Series school bus was designed based on the needs of customers—focusing on passenger safety, driver comfort, vehicle durability and serviceability. IC Bus™ CE Series school buses are built with 16-gauge steel side rails and an 18,500-lb rear steel spring suspension standard, offering customers durability and one of the longest-lasting buses on the road today. With the IC Bus CE Series includes more safety features than any other school bus on the market, including a Leave No Student Behind® alarm system, that requires drivers to disable an alarm at the rear of the bus before exiting, ensuring no student is overlooked. And, when service is required, the bus's Easy-tilt™ three-piece hood and exterior electrical panel makes maintenance trips quicker and easier—increasing vehicle uptime.

IC Bus has earned its reputation for uptime through the strength of its dealer network, along with its parts distribution, after-sales and training support services. In addition to nearly 300 IC Bus service and support locations, the company's school buses are also supported by more than 750 International Truck locations.
