KEVIN THOMAS TO LEAD NAVISTAR DEFENSE

LISLE, IL – May 19, 2015 – Navistar International Corporation (NYSE:  NAV) today announced that Kevin Thomas has been appointed as president of Navistar Defense, LLC. Thomas, 51, most recently performed dual roles as director of engineering for Navistar Defense and managing director for the certification and compliance group for Navistar, Inc.

Working with the defense group during the last eight years, Thomas led both the defense program management and engineering teams. He played an integral role in the Navistar defense segment’s success in delivering quality products to the U.S. and its allies, enabling them to complete their mission and return home safely.

“The Defense business has continued to demonstrate growth and profitability over the past 10 years,” said Bill Kozek, president, Navistar Truck and Parts. “I am confident under Kevin’s leadership, it will continue to perform.”

Thomas began his career with Navistar in 1999. He worked in several positions managing engineering groups between the truck and engine businesses as well as leading a joint venture between Navistar and Ford Motor Company.

Prior to joining Navistar, Thomas worked for General Motors Truck Group where he led the development and release of air bag safety systems across the GM Truck product lines. He also worked for General Dynamics Land Systems Division as a systems engineer on the M1A1 and M1A2 Abrams tank programs.
